What The Media Says About Dr. Cellars
See the articles that have been written about our Dr. Cellars! He has received a lot of attention and have won many awards for his patient centered focus and incredible talent and abilities. "It's partly because have good we are but it's mostly that we care so much about our patients, which is also the reason that we are good," says Dr. Cellars when asked by LA Weekly about his awards and success.
Even if you brush and floss every day, your saliva has a lot of minerals in it. So these minerals will inevitably build up. And what happens is as this plaque or tartar builds up on your teeth, it starts to irritate your gums. Your gums don't like anything touching them really, and it causes inflammation. And so this chronic inflammation, well, it's not good for your body. First of all, any sort of chronic inflammation is bad for your overall health, but it's also bad for the longevity of your teeth.
So, your gums will start to pull away. They'll become inflamed and puffy and then they start to pull away and then your teeth lose support. And eventually, if it is allowed to progress far enough, you'll actually lose the teeth. The teeth will become very loose and you can pull them out with your finger. In modern times this doesn't happen to most people because we get cleanings, but it definitely does happen if you don't ever get a cleaning and/or take care of your teeth.
So, cleanings should be done often enough to make it so that your gums aren't inflamed. If you're getting a cleaning every six months and every time you go to your dental office your gums are very inflamed, then you should be going more than every six months. I would say on average most people should go every four months. And most people over 60 — and obviously this is a generalization — should be going every 3 months. It obviously depends on how healthy your teeth are and how well you take care of them, but for the most part, you need to have very healthy gums for every six months to be enough to get rid of all of your inflammation.
Regular teeth cleanings are one of the most effective ways to prevent gum disease, cavities, and long-term damage to your smile. Professional cleanings remove plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing can't reach.
When patients search for a dental cleaning near me, they are usually looking for a trusted office that offers gentle yet thorough care. Choosing the best hygienist near me means finding someone who can spot early signs of gum problems, keep your mouth comfortable, and help maintain long-term oral health.
